Kenny Haas, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 26 at his home in Kellerton, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Left to cherish Kenny’s memory are his sisters Barb (Bill) Dahm of Madelia, Linda (Craig) Anderson of Courtland, and Sharon Haas of New Ulm; brothers Tom (LuAnn) Haas of New Ulm, Jim Haas of Lafayette, and Dick Haas of Haines, Alaska; many nieces, nephews, friends; and his caring neighbors Jada, TJ and their children Joseph, Matthew, Christian, and Emma.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; sister & brother-in-law Laurie & Joe Matter and close friend Gary Stewart.
Kenneth Steven Haas was born September 25, 1966 in New Ulm to LeRoy & Violet (Fischer) Haas, the youngest of eight children. He was a 1985 graduate of New Ulm High School. After high school he moved to the Twin Cities, Duluth and then to Kellerton, Iowa in 2008 where he was residing at the time of his death. He worked in all aspects of food service, beginning with a high school job at the Cat ‘N Fiddle Supper Club in New Ulm and later as Head Houseman at the Women’s Club of Minneapolis. He also worked in maintenance, managed apartment complexes and contracted for remodeling and painting.
Kenny enjoyed camping, music, jigsaw puzzles, and his dogs. He spent many hours cooking and baking and was proud to share his specialties with his neighbors and family.
Although Kenny’s journey on Earth was far too short there’s comfort knowing he is now free. Good memories will remain with all who knew him. Rest in peace Buddy.
