Condon Graham (Connie) passed away July 23, 2020 at the age of 84 in Anchorage Alaska.
Connie was born in Ringgold County, Iowa on May 1st of 1936 and grew up in Diagonal until he went to Maryville College where he received a degree in Business.
He was drafted into the military, while in college, because the secretary in charge of sending in the draft deferment cards got pregnant and left the cards in her desk; so a bunch of Maryville College students ended up being drafted.
Luckily, he ended up going to Korea and meeting my mother who were married for 60 years. They both rarely drank alcohol. Think about that for a second. 60 years and no alcohol……..Connie left Korea with my mother and then had Jeff.
Connie and the family traveled the world and he lived in Korea, Iran, Germany, Okinawa, Iowa, Virginia, Washington DC, Alaska, California, Russia, Vietnam and probably a few more placed I didn’t know about.
He loved to fish, travel in his motorhome, and work on his home in Alaska.
Connie loved to tell stories about his adventures and had a fond memory of his friends and family in Iowa.
He had an amazing memory and could tell you the names of the restaurants that he visited, the year, what he ate and sometimes the names of the servers. I always said that was his superpower. Not a great superpower like flying, but more like a guy who would astound us with their math skills.
Connie was loved by all around him and had a lot of friends. If you knew him, you know what I mean. He was truly a Genuine person.
