Verla was a delightful women, friend and boss. One of my first jobs was as a waitress at the Clearfield Cafe working for Verla and Darrel. Verla was an excellent cook. My favorite was stuffed pork chops which always cooked on Sundays. We always had a lot of fun. I saw her not too long ago when Reeta brought her to the clinic. I know she really appreciated Reeta. I will always have fond memories of her. To her children, thank you for sharing her and your dad to some of the rest of us. She enriched my life.

I got to know Verla while working at Clearview Home in Clearfield. She was a fun, spunky lady that was a go-getter. She spent time visiting a special resident to her, as well as, volunteering and singing as our entertainment. She put many miles on her feet, on a daily basis with early morning walks, before the rooster was even up, and coming for her daily visit with Evelyn. They were good for each other and we all looked forward to seeing her. I'm sure that when Verla entered the gates of Heaven that Evelyn met her saying, "where have you been? It's been five years." Verla will be missed by many.

Our family will always be grateful to Verla for all the time she spent with our mother (Evelyn Morey Stevenson), especially when she was a resident at Clearview Home. Many days Verla would stop at Clearview while on her daily walks to share news and humor with Mom. Bless her.
