Velda Pierson
Velda Marie (Clark) Pierson was born February 20, 1937 in Red Oak, Iowa to Joseph Arthur Clark and Catherine Marie (Whitney) Clark. She was educated in the Red Oak Schools. On October 16, 1954 she was united in marriage to Howard Eugene Pierson in Red Oak, Iowa. To this union are three children, Mike, Teresa and Patricia. After marriage they lived in Charles City and Neola. In July of 1961 they moved to Mount Ayr and moved to the farm south of Mount Ayr in 1969.
Velda was a homemaker until the kids were older when she began working for Department of Human Services in Mount Ayr. She loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with family and friends.
Velda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Patrick Edward in infancy; two brothers, Ramon Clark and Virgil Clark.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Mike Pierson, Teresa (significant other Steve) Pierson and Patricia (husband Jeffery) Edgington; four grandchildren, Blake (wife Anita) Edgington, Shane Edgington, Caitlyn (husband Austin) Clark and Cale Edgington; two great-grandchildren, Jersey Clark and Greyden Clark; brother, Frank (wife Pauline) Clark; two sisters, Elsie (husband Carol) Nelson and Marjorie Templeton; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Clark and Francis Pierson.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

She left many memories with her Cousin Mary Griffeth (Foreman) and often told stories about some of their adventures as kids to her daughter Laurie. R.I.P.
