Terri Clymer Chafa

Teresa Lynn Clymer, daughter of Arvid “Bo” & Judy (Townsend) Clymer, was born May 5, 1970, at Maquoketa, Iowa. The Clymer family made Tingley their home and Terri attended and graduated from Mount Ayr High School with the class of 1988.

Terri was a loving mother to Wesley and Skylar. Her boys were the center of her life. She was always working to make their home the best that she could. She loved decorating and wasn’t afraid to paint walls & fixing things up. Terri enjoyed making crafts and jewelry. She loved 80’s rock and although she loved her “girly” things, she loved to take the boys fishing and go to hockey games. At her orneriest, she enjoyed playing pranks and would embarrass the boys in front of people: pinching their cheeks and giving them kisses on the cheeks. Terri had an infectious laugh and could make everyone smile. Terri enjoyed movies and spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews, and friends. Terri was always the “mother-hen” and glue that held the family together.

Terri passed away on June 1, 2021 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Melissa Clymer on May 31, 2001, and great nephew Cristian Clymer.

Survivors include her sons Wesley Armstrong Clymer and Skylar Armstrong, both of Creston, IA; siblings Beth Kenny of Des Moines, IA, Eric (Monica) Clymer of Mount Ayr, Bob (Kelli) Clymer of Prairie City, IA, Jerry Weikert of Muscatine, IA, nephews and nieces Chelsey Clymer, Alicia Clymer, Ashley Clymer, Cade Clymer, Cole Clymer, Leah Clymer, Jordan Clymer, Monique Kenny, Megan Kern, Bradley Clymer, Mitchell Clymer, Bo Clymer, Wyatt Clymer, Brittany Marshall; great nieces and nephews Taylor Clymer, Alexa Clymer, Brynn Tussey, Jensan Tussey, Jace Clymer, Josiah Clymer, Ryan Clymer, Julie Clymer, Aurabella Clymer, Alivia Clymer, Killion Clymer, Layla Clymer, Alexia Fannon, Laine Brown, Lilli Caldwell, Annalee Caldwell, Tyler Clymer, Vincent Clymer, Nickolas Townsend, Charlotte Sandberg; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established to the family.

Guestbook

Terri, Annette, and I lived in the silver bullet trailer in Lenox starting in 1990 when I graduated from high school. It was one of the best times of my life. I will always love you Terri, till my time comes to join you! Our big hair will always dangle under the car door as we throw up! You and Annette are my sisters forever. I love you. Rest peacefully.

We are sorry to learn of Terri's death. We look forward to seeing her alive again in the resurrection. Jesus promised, "All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life." John 5:28, 29

Terri was a beautiful person with a loving heart. Our children grew up together in Tingley and became good friends. Terri loved her children. Skylar and Wesley were the center of her world. My deepest sympathy to her family. May God bring you peace until you are reunited again.

"Like a comet blazing 'cross the evening sky, like a rainbow, fading in the twinkling of an eye, shiny and sparkly, and splendidly bright, here one day, gone one night." My deepest condolences to Terri's family, ten years ago this month, her Mom Judy passed away. It is very hard to lose someone and specially hard at such young age, to the entire Clymer family, may God comfort you in this time of grief.
