Roxie K. Fletcher

Roxie Kaye Fletcher, daughter of Cecil Joseph & Vesta Maxine (Keller) Smith, was born at home near Diagonal, Iowa on March 8, 1954. Roxie graduated from Diagonal High School in 1972.

Roxie married Charles Phillip Fletcher on July 21, 1976. They made Diagonal their home where they raised their three children; Robert, Charlotte, and Danny.

In later years, Roxie worked at the Cap Factory for a few years; she also cooked at the Diagonal schools, the Diagonal café, Fireside Bar & Grill and most recently Back 40 Bar & Grill in Diagonal. Roxie I just cant believe you are gone..You were a wonderful, kind, funny, loving lady. When working with you I know several times you helped people with their bills when they fell short of money and you probably didnt expect to get it back and that was ok. Your kids and grandkids loved you so much and you were their rock. I go to your house now and you arent sitting in your chair and it breaks my heart. I miss you so much BUT I know we will be united again some day. Fly high my baby sister and keep us lined up down here until we can be with you again I love you sis

Thoughts and prayers to Robert, Charolete and family. Roxie was an amazing mother, wife, grandmother and friend. I worked with her for many years and she never judged me for anything. I could always talk to her no matter what. Didn''t even matter if it had been years since I saw her. I love u Roxie and you''ll be extremely missed.

It hard to belive you are gone. I know you are so proud of your kids and grandkids. We love you and we know you will be watching over everyone you have a porch seat picked out already watching.

There are a couple things missing and not quite in step with the obituary. Mom worked at the cap factory earlier, not later on, way earlier. Then she also was Diagonals Brownie troup leader,Sunday school teacher, group leader when we used to decorate the Diagonal City Park, head mischief ring leader, care giver at MOI in Creston for years, shelter house worker on Labor Day in the park, 2nd mom to all the neiborhood kids (all the kids from and around town of Diagonal). Pizza maker at Jerrys Texaco/Sinclair longer or almost as long as anyone who worked there. Her and Charlotte hold world records or should, for most Easter egg stuffers and scatterers for whatever kids came to hunt Easter eggs out at FOGLE LAKE. Even this year as she was takin chemo. As well as working at back 40 through it and the radiation-beat that, Lance Armstrong!! Anr any more things I haven''t mentioned here either. My mom rocked!!!! Never another one like her. We had it so good with her and dad being our parents. She finally done it to didn''t she. She always said stop cryin or I''m gonna give u something worth cryin over! AND HERE IT IS. We all have somethin worth cryin over now.
