Roland Buck

Roland Alvin Buck was born February 20, 1928, in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Dorothy (Stafford) and Raymond R. Buck.  He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1945. 

Roland was united in marriage to Mildred Greene.  To this union five children were born, Robert, Melody, Marjorie, Ann and Mary Lee.  They made their home in rural Mount Ayr where Roland farmed for many years.  He later worked for Glendenning Motors and the City of Mount Ayr.

After Mildred passed away Roland was fortunate enough to have found another love in his life with Jane Braby.  Her family Curt, Cary, Carme, Craig, Casey and Camilla also became part of his life. 

Roland passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mildred; wife Jane; daughter Mary Lee Buck; brothers Richard Buck and Donald Buck; sisters-in-law Wilma Buck and Phyllis Buck; brother-in-law Willard Bentley; brothers-in-law Jack (Lila) Greene, Bill Greene, Gene (Marjorie) Sickels. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son Robert (Sue) Buck; daughters Melody (Dave) Brokaw, Marjorie (Merl) Comer and Ann (David) Hughes; step children Curt (Denise) Braby, Cary (Debbie) Braby, Carme Lilienthal, Craig (Kathi) Braby, Casey Braby and Camilla (Bill) Walters; grandchildren Mark (Katie) Crain, Foster (Emily) Crain, Andrew Wiley Tony Wiley, Allison (Eric Clausen) Wiley, Sondra (Shane Bailey) Comer, Ashely (Brandon) Repp, Brian (Kassandra) Comer, Marjorie (Andrew) Redman and Bobby Hughes; step-grandchildren Kale Braby, Kassidi (Tim) Poots, Shawna Rolph, Tori Braby, Kristin Merrit, Taylor (Daniel) Sadler, Kelsey (Russel) Patton, Chance (Wendy) Greenman, Lafe (Laura) Dukes, Tyson (Johnna) Dukes, Nicholas Braby, Victoria Braby, Wayne (Monica) Walters, Jordan Walters and Ben (Bre) Walters; many great-grandchildren; brother Merritt Buck; sister Barbara Bentley; sisters-in-law Sandy Buck and Marilyn Greene; brother-in-law Dale Greene; extended family.

Per Roland's wishes he will be cremated and buried at the Rose Hill Cemetery and Platteville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Community of Christ Church or Son's of American Legion for Dance Club.

Roland was one to help people out! He was a neighbor when he passed. I knew him when he was married to Mildred and after she passed he later married Jane.Both very nice and he had to take care of both as they both ended up sick. He was very dedicated in taking care of both.

Uncle Roland was a wonderful man and always made you feel welcome and special each time he saw you ! He will be missed by many !!
