Ricky "Spud" Callison
Ricky “Spud” Joe Callison passed away November 26, 2020 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 66. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on August 10, 1954 to Dwayne and JoAnn (Pritchard) Callison. Rick graduated from East Union High School in Afton, IA in 1972.
Following graduation, Rick enlisted in the United States Navy. He was married and had two children, Anthony “Tony” Dwayne and Jennifer Lynn. On November 29, 1982, Rick married Debra “Debbie” Jean Cooper in Osceola, IA. Two daughters were born to this union, Corinne “Cory” Sue Callison (Behrens) and Wendy Jo Callison (Greenman).
Rick is survived by his wife, Debbie Callison of Shannon City, IA; son Tony (Londa) Hartsook and his son Hunter Hartsook of Ankeny, IA; daughter Cory (Evan) Behrens and their two children, Cade Andrew and Brylie Alyson of Coon Rapids, IA; daughter Wendy (Chance) Greenman and their daughter, Layton Jo of Mt. Ayr; brothers Chris (Linda) Callison, Michael Callison, Dan Callison, Mark (Brenda) Callison, and Craig (Shawna) Callison. Rick was preceeded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer, and mother-in-law Barbara Faux.

Cooper, I am so sorry to hear about Spud! I remember you guys come into Akins, you seemed so happy! I didn't realize he was so sick. I knew you were always getting his medicine. He will be missed by you all.

Deb and Family. So sorry to hear of Spud's sudden passing. Spud was a great guy and will be missed by all. I had a great time working with Spud at Heat Tech, and he never failed to make my day with a joke orcomical observation and asmile,especially on the"things aren't going so good days". I always called him "Spud Man the Bud Man",and his nickname for me was Pappy. Of course we had nicknames for everybody back then! He was a very talented individual and could fix anything.
