I know that this memory post is late, but I only now heard of Mabel''s passing. There are so many things I could say about sweet Mabel. I briefly worked in the nursing home, in assisted living and this was where I was blessed to have met her. She was so sweet, compassionate, and kind. Mabel brought a smile to my face every single day I was around her. I thought of her often after leaving Iowa in 2006. I am so sorry for your loss, I am sure you will always feel a void without her presence because of what a wonderful person she was.
God Bless,
Lisa Hise

My mother, Jane, worked with Mabel until she (my mother) retired and for the last 5 years of her life, was a resident of the nursing home. She always considered Mabel a good, close friend and looked forward to her visits. I am thankful Mom had such a good friend. Ironically, Mabel''s passing came exactly 3 years after Mom''s. My most sincere sympathies to Mabel''s family and friends. May the sweetest memories visit you when least expected and most needed.

I remember living up the hill northeast of Ellston and riding the school bus with the girls. Your mom always had hollyhocks growing. I''m sorry to read of her passing. I know how hard it is especially since Dad''s recent passing. Prayers for all of you.

We were saddened to hear of Mabel''s passing. There are many fond memories of Sunday dinners after Mass with the Walters and Reasoners. Francis and Mabel was Ed''s godparents, and you couldn''t ask for a kinder more gentle couple. - The Reasoner

My deepest sympathy to the Walters'' family. It''s always tough losing a Mom no matter how old or how sick they are. She''s lucky to have had such wonderful daughters in her life. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.
