Lila Barker

Lila Mae (Tyrrel) Barker was born September 13, 1935 to Nova Vernon and Vesta (Walters) Tyrrel.  Lila graduated from Mount Ayr High School.

On December 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Edward Barker.  To this union two sons were born: Rusty Lavernon and Lonny Lee.

Lila was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed playing bingo, playing pitch, the color red especially in clothing, shopping, cooking for family and fishing.

Lila and Lawrence lived 41 years in Clearfield before moving to Lenox.  Lawrence passed away in 2009.  Lila moved back to Clearfield to the Clearview Home until moving to the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr where she passed away at Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter Tori Barker.  Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Rusty Barker of Des Moines and Lonny (Ronda) Barker of Casey; one granddaughter Elizabeth Barker; two step-grandchildren Lindsey Heathcote and Kailey Fucaloro; three step-great grandchildren Drake Rule, Saige Rule and Wesley Heathcote.

I sent a note to all of the Class of 1954 that Lila died. She was so sweet even in high school.
I am sending our sympathy to her sons and grandchildren.
