Jim Haley

Jimmy Eugene Haley, fourth child born to Harry Howard and Ruth Annella (Roudybush) Haley, was born January 12, 1950 at Creston, Iowa. Jim grew up on a farm near Diagonal and graduated from Diagonal High School in 1968.

Jim met and fell in love with Shirley Lee Webb. They were united in marriage on December 19, 1970 in Omaha, NE. They lived in Glenwood until 2012 and then they moved to Villisca, Iowa and have made it their home. They are the parents of two children: Michelle and Nickolas.

Jim worked at the Glenwood Resource Center from 1971 until retiring in 2005. In addition to this, Jim was an accomplished carpenter. He loved to re-finish old furniture; hunt deer with his family near Diagonal and squirrels at Villisca. Jim also enjoyed going to the casino. Jim was an advocate for children and those with special needs. He had a big heart and was proud of his roots. More than anything, he loved his family.

Jim health declined and he passed away at his home in Villisca on April 11, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Joe Haley; brothers-in-law Ted Moffitt and Ronnie King; nephew Greg Haley; parents-in-law Richard & Lola Webb; brothers-in-law Richard Webb and David Webb and sister-in-law Judy Rokes.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Shirley Haley of Villisca, IA; children Michelle (Bill) Reeves of Thurman, IA and Nick (Melissa) Haley of Malvern, IA; grandchildren Luke Haley, Hannah Delashmutt, Emma Jahnke, Lillie Delashmutt, Kennedy Haley, Logan Jahnke, and Matthew Haley; step-grandchildren Shane & Cody Reeves; four brothers, Jerry (Janet) Haley, Jeffery (Janet) Haley, J.B.
