Glenna M. Eggert

Glenna Mae (Frame) Eggert was born April 19, 1925, in Taylor County, Iowa, near Lenox to Glen and Mildred Velda (Snare) Frame. Glenna attended country school in Taylor County and graduated from Lenox High School. She then went Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Glenna was united in marriage to Raymond W. Eggert on December 23, 1946, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Two sons were born to this union, William Lee and John Wesley. The family lived on a farm near Unadilla, Nebraska, and Glenna worked as a Registered Nurse at Syracuse Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska.

In February of 1959 they moved to a farm southeast of Clearfield, Iowa. Glenna continued working as a nurse for Ringgold County Hospital, Clearview Homes in Clearfield, Clearfield School, then Ringgold County Public Health for 13 years before retiring.

She was a member of Friendly Neighbor Club, District Nurse Association, Rook Club, United Methodist Church of Clearfield, and Legion Auxiliary Post 0097 of Clearfield. She loved quilting, and all of her and Raymond's siblings as well as all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have received quilts made by her hands.

Glenna passed away March 31, 2017, at the Red Oak Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; son John; grandson Michael; brothers Kenneth, Norman, and Howard; sisters Martha and Alice; sisters-in-law Darlene and Jeanette; brothers-in-law Wesley, Roland, and Harland.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister Golda Ingram of Prairie City, Iowa, and brother Eugene (Red) Frame of Edwards, Missouri; her son William Eggert and Phyllis Biggs of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren Kevin and Melissa Eggert of Clearfield, Iowa; Darwin Eggert of Lenox, Iowa; Kristine and Nick Jackson of Des Moines, Iowa; and Andy and Leslie Eggert of Red Oak, Iowa. Great-grandchildren include Kassie Spencer, Kory and Aiden Eggert; Austin, Tyler, Emily, Kelsey, and Brett Eggert; Joel, Trevor, and Morgan Jackson; and Joshua Eggert. She also has many nieces, nephews, and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Glenna at the Public Health Office many years ago. She was so sweet and kind. Sympathy goes out to her family!
