Garry Smith

Garry Neal Smith, son of Billy Junior & Margaret Louise (Pellman) Smith, was born April 11, 1964 in Osceola, Iowa. Garry grew up at Winterset and went to Winterset High School.

They cut a lot of wood together. Garry loved to tinker on and fix things. Garry never married and thought the world of his nieces and nephews.

Garry passed away on February 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William James & Wilma Jane (Fest) Smith and maternal grandparents Charles James & Mary Gladys (Bailey) Pellman; brother Jerry Dwayne Smith; several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his parents, Billy & Margaret Smith of Lamoni, IA; brother Terry (Tammy) Smith of Lake View, IA and their family Kara (Max) Flurey, Katey (Dalton) Thorpe, William Smith, Wyatt Smith; brother Larry (Patti) Smith of Eagleville, MO and their family Ethan (Mariah) Smith, Emma (Raph) Coulthard, Eli (Megan) Smith; sister Melissa Smith of Lamoni, IA; great nieces & nephews Wesley, Abigail, Emry, Payton, Wynnie, Gwenn, Ean, Alison, Declyn, Everly; aunts & uncles Charles (Paula) Pellman, David Pellman, Shirley (Dennis) Smith; cousins, other relatives and friends.

Guestbook

Margaret and Billy sorry for the loss of your sone but we know where he was going and you will see him again is a promise of our sweet lord. I do know you visited Helen like I did and she enjoyed your help and care. Sad to loose your children so early in their lives. May you find peace in the knowledge of where they were headed. Margaret. Hugs.

Heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Junior and Margaret on the loss of Garry. Although I never met or knew Garry, your loss is still heartfelt. The attachment to families of the old neighborhood and memories of childhood on the Decatur-Ringgold county line still exist as do the times at the country school and afterwards. Especially, is the grateful appreciation of Margaret's love and care for Mom overe the years when we were not close by.
