E. Faye Sickels
Eva Faye (Jeter) Sickels was born August 17, 1930 to Fred Elmer and Cordia (Jones) Jeter near Hatfield, Missouri. Faye was educated in rural schools around Hatfield, Missouri.
On October 26, 1947 Faye was united in marriage to Don Allen Sickels in Creston, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Joyce, Judy and Ron.
Don and Faye farmed near Mount Ayr until 1958. They then moved to Clarinda where Don ran a service station for around 2 years. In 1960, they returned to Mount Ayr. Faye helped Don with his tank wagon business by taking phone orders and radioing them to him. Although she was mainly a homemaker she had brief jobs at the Clinton Motel, the cap factory, and as a school bus driver. Faye enjoyed life and loved family time. High on the list of loves was her dog, Sparky. In later years she loved going to the Mount Ayr meal site to eat and play Bingo. She also loved to play Yahtzee.
After a 2 week stay and lengthy surgery at Mercy Hospital, she was transferred to Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa where she passed away one date later June 18, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; six brothers Eldon, Ardith, Paul, Clyde, Jim and Ray Jeter; two sisters Wanda McGahuey and Virginia Sharp; son-in-law Allen Crandall. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Joyce (Mark) Waters of Des Moines and Judy Crandall of Oelwein; son Ron Sickels (Barbara Pottorff) of Mount Ayr; dog Sparky: five grandchildren Todd Waters, Amber (Jeremy) Guck, Toni (Gary) Morris, Matt Crandall, Shannon (Bob) Hernandez; eight great-grandchildren Avery and Austin Guck, Zach Morris, Savanna, Alex and Hunter Crandall, Braylen and McKale Hernandez; two great-great-grandchildren Harper Smith and Weston Crandall; sister-in-law Helen Jeter of Mount Ayr; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Joyce, Judy, and Ron, So sorry to hear about your mom's passing. It's hard to say good bye to the ones we love. The only comfort we can have is knowing she is with her family in Heaven where there is no more pain or sorrow. We won't be able to make it down for the visitation or services but we will be thinking of you. Our Deepest Sympathy. Lana and Carey
