Donna Benegas

It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Benegas announces her passing at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center after a brief illness, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Donna had resided for the last 10 years at the Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Mount Ayr, Iowa. She had previously lived in Marion, Iowa where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. Donna was a homemaker her entire life raising six children after an early unexpected death of her husband. She was an avid reader especially of mysteries.

Donna was born on July 21, 1929 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was married to the late Angelo Benegas, Jr. of Fort Dodge, Iowa. She is survived by her sons Angelo (Ben) Benegas III and Doug Benegas; her daughters Kathy Hemann, Kristine Benegas, Judy Gitlin, and Sara Madden, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her deeply.

Donna will be cremated, and her ashes interred alongside her deceased husband at the Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Mrs. Benegas has been cremated and no local services are scheduled.

so sorry for your loss, also to see that you lost your father so early also. went to butler with u kids. remember senior along with George fawlkes as our baseball coach. ice cream cones. after the games. raids to brooks after practices. kind of lost track of your family by end of south jh junior and had p.e. together he was wicked in kickball. and was also one of my surprises clutch hitters for softball teams. I didn't know your mom as well as your dad, but remember her being a huge supporter of your on the baseball teams. I think they had me on that team in grade school just to make the rest of you look good. I did get much better, but had move on to other sports by then. that change took me away from a lot great kids, on those baseball teams. but we still had our pick up games. On the Butler school grounds and Olsen park. hope you can find some peace and comfort in your friends family, and faith during this time. my prayers our with you. take care. Terry Collins

Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. I so enjoyed her when I visited on Monday mornings for their coffee time. I know everyone there will miss her at Maple Ridge. My condolences to you and yours Along with the rest of your family.

I remember growing up with all of you on South 17th Street. Donna was a wonderful lady. You all have my deepest sympathy.
